1. A rainbow delight

We love @thebalancedrose’s porridge because it’s packed with high-fibre, high-protein super foods. The flax meal provides an abundance of omega-3 essential fatty acids to help protect your heart, along with cashew cream that is packed with the vital vitamins E, K, and B6. 2. Experiment with your grains

This amaranth polenta porridge from seasaltandgreens is simply delicious. The nutrient-rich grain, Amaranth, contains three times the average amount of calcium of alternative grains. High in iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, and also brimming with vitamin A and C from the polenta, this porridge is great for anyone in need of a mineral and vitamin boost.

  1. For a mean, green, porridge-eating machine

@squirrelsisters’ vibrant, healthy breakfast alternative is brilliant if you’re looking to boost your immune system. Matcha powder is impressively high in antioxidants that counteract the damaging effects of free radicals in the body. And that’s not all, the addition of bee pollen – one of nature’s most nourishing foods – supplies almost all of the nutrients that the human body needs. This porridge provides a great, healthy start to the day.

  1. Berry nice indeed

This blackberry and coconut porridge from @peaceloveandporridge set our taste buds tingling. Not only does the coconut milk boast lower blood pressure and cholestrol levels, but the blackberries help to improve digestive health, strengthen the immune system and could even help the prevention of some types of cancer. We love the look of this bright, exciting looking porridge.

Here’s the recipe:

Serves 1
1/3 cup oats
2/3 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup water
1 Tbsp stewed blackberries (fresh would probably work too)
1 Tbsp berry muesli I used Dorset cereals (or just some normal muesli with extra dried berries/raisins etc)
1 Tbsp lemon and lime alpro soya yoghurt
1/2 tsp agave syrup
Desiccated coconut and more blackberries to top

Method
Put all of the ingredients minus the toppings into a small nonstick saucepan pan and simmer until thickened to preference (about 5 mins) then pour into a bowl and top with a sprinkle of desiccated coconut and more blackberries.

  1. It’s all peachy

For a frosty, winter’s morning, this porridge from @clean_natural_foods is the one to choose. Spiced with cinnamon and flavoured with vanilla, this peach and coconut porridge is perfect for warming the heart. The flaxseeds also provide fibre – great for a healthy intestinal tract and nourished skin and hair.
