Valentine’s Day turn off

A passionate night under the covers may not be on the cards this Valentine’s Day as nearly 50 per cent of women say feeling bloated has a negative effect on their sex life. Research into digestive complaints has found more than 4 in 10 women say feeling bloated leaves them less likely to want to have sex.

A poll carried out by the yoghurt brand Activia showed that bloating is the most common complaint of digestive discomfort among women in the UK. Almost 60 per cent of women reported experiencing occasional digestive discomfort and one in four said they experience bloating at least several times a week.

Nutrition expert Dr Sarah Brewer says: “The digestive system is like the engine of the body; it absorbs all the nutrients and minerals the body needs for its overall wellbeing. Eating yoghurt containing the healthy bacteria Bifidus ActiRegularis is one easy way women can help reduce their digestive discomfort.”
