Reader Suzanne Hinchliffe has a mission – to get fit and work towards running a marathon. With support from Debenhams’ fantastic new Sport & Leisure range, she’s dedicated to changing her life:
‘Note to self: run a marathon (mini).’ This was the first thing I wrote in my 2009 diary way back in January. I decided the beached whale look was not going to happen this summer and that looking good was going to be my New Year’s resolution. Running seemed the best way to get fit and healthy in time for summer. Firstly it’s free. Secondly, it got me outdoors and active, and stopped me watching TV and eating too many leftover goodies from Christmas. Weeks of running amazingly turned into months and motivated me to work towards running a half-marathon. This gave me a goal to look forward to and made me run that little bit further every week. At first, getting fit was about body confidence and becoming a bikini goddess by July. Now I see it as part of my life. I like exercise and love being fit, and running has helped me achieve this. Hopefully I’ll see you at the finishing line…
