Meditation helps the heart

Say ommmmm…

Transcendental meditation can help cut your risk of heart attacks by up to 47 per cent, says a new study from the Maharishi University of Management in Iowa.
The relaxation technique, which was popular during the 1960s Summer of Love, can have a beneficial effect on heart disease and stress, including halving the rate of heart attacks and strokes in patients with cardiovascular disease. People in on group were asked to spend at least 20 minutes twice a day meditating while sitting with their eyes closed, while another group took health education classes providing dietary and exercise advice. Heart attacks, strokes, and deaths fell by 47 per cent in the meditation group.
