Healthy writer, Hannah Fox, wants to tone up, get fit, and lose a few pounds with the help of Maxitone and I.N.C Space fitness centre
Oh dear! I think I spoke to soon in the my last post when I said I was back on track. After two weekends on the trot with hen parties and a wedding coming up this weekend, my diet has slipped off the rails a touch. I’ll admit, it’s not easy to remain healthy when some of the activities that I’ve been up to recently include posh cream teas at country hotels and three course dinners at restaurants. Either way, the truth is staring back at me on the scales – I’ve put on two pounds and I don’t think that’s muscle!
Some might say I could refuse the cream teas, not attend the dinners, and leave that glass of champers and slice of wedding cake untouched. But the truth is, these are my friends and family, and I’m not prepared to completely put my life on hold for the sake of a few pounds. That’s the constant dilemma that I think a lot of people find themselves in when they’re trying to follow a healthy lifestyle – striking the right balance between leading a normal life that allows for occasional indulgences and being ultra healthy. Many people call it the 80:20 rule (your diet should be 80 per cent healthy and 20 per cent naughty), and I think I’ll stick with that, but I’ll be hitting the gym extra hard after this weekend to try and get back on track.
On another note, I’ve been getting lots of compliments on the state of my skin, which is fantastic news. I put it down to the Maxitone Finesse omega-3 supplements that I’ve been taking – my skin has been feeling a lot smoother and I’ve been able to go easier on the moisturiser since I’ve been taking them. I guess I’m getting moisture from the inside out! I’ve also been given a slightly updated nutrition plan by Maxitone’s nutrition consultant Gwen Fitzpatrick which I am going to TRY to stick to! Click here to download it. Alternatively, log on to the Maxitone website to get ideas of meal plans.
